History of Computer and Programming
1947 - Bug and Debug
The words "bug" and "debug" were introduced to the computer world by Grace Murray Hopper, an American navy commander and programmer. The computer crashed due to a circuit error in the Mark II computer. Hopper's report described the bug as a bug and debug debugging it.
1949 - Stored Programme
The EDSAC (Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator) was the first computer to use stored programmers. On May 6, 1949, calculations were made while running the first programmer here. Thus began the methodology of storing and reusing programs.
1954 - FORTRAN
The FORTRAN computer language, the world's first high-level programming language, was created by John Bakes, who worked at IBM. It was very popular with a format that was easier to understand than lower-level computer languages and is still widely used today for scientific purposes.
1961 - First Computer Game
Space War, the world's first computer game programmed by Steve Russell, was released in 1961. Two players can play. This is designed as a battle between two spacecraft. It took more than 200 man-hours to create this game. But Russell made no income from this.
1983 - First Virus
The world's first virus was programmed by computer expert Frederick Cohen. This is a hidden program that infects a computer, spreads throughout the computer, and then copies to floppy disks and infects another computer. Friedrich did not create this with a malicious idea and his goal was to prove that the concept of a computer virus could be done.
